In an animal study performed at the Collagen Research Institute in Germany, Fortigel® ingestion led to significant increases in cartilage tissue metabolism and accumulation. Other studies of athletes and aging adults mirrored these findings.

A 48-week placebo-controlled study performed at Tufts Medical Center in cooperation with Harvard University showed through MRI scans that ingestion of 10 g of Fortigel® effectively increased connective tissue mass and cartilage regeneration in patients with knee pain.
