Director of E-commerce (Health Supplements, Wellness Category) OPEN POSITION

Remote (ET Hours, South Florida location preferred, not required)
Ecommerce
Full time

We are currently recruiting for a Director of E-Commerce at SaltWrap (the leading online retailer of therapeutic sports nutrition), reporting to the CEO.

We are looking for a results-oriented e-commerce leader who can own the total SaltWrap customer and store experience — from the moment a visitor lands on the site to the moment an order is fulfilled — and build the operational and technical infrastructure that supports profitable, scalable growth.

The ideal candidate thinks like both a merchant and a technologist — balancing a customer-first instinct with the technical rigor to implement changes correctly, protect what's already working, and drive measurable improvements in conversion rate, subscription revenue, and customer lifetime value. This is a high-ownership role with direct reports, agency and developer management responsibilities, and full accountability for CRO program execution, Recharge subscription optimization, and Shopify store operations.

Director of E-Commerce Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salaried Role + Performance Bonus
  • Medical, Vision, and Dental Care Available
  • Company-funded 401K with contribution match
  • Remote work (with occasional travel for offsites)

The Director of E-Commerce is the strategic owner of site performance, conversion optimization, subscription program excellence, on-site merchandising, marketplace operations, the tech stack, and the team members who keep day-to-day operations running. This role reports directly to the CEO.

As the Director of E-Commerce at SaltWrap, your primary responsibilities will include:

1.    WEBSITE EXPERIENCE & CRO

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and day-to-day execution of the website experience including site merchandising, testing, SEO/AEO best practices, and ongoing optimization.
  • Lead the CRO program end-to-end: own testing strategy, landing page build & deployment processes, and manage the CRO agency and freelance landing page designers.
  • Own post-purchase upsell strategy and implementation: identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, implement through Shopify apps and post-purchase tools, and optimize for conversion rate and AOV impact.

2.    TECH STACK & DEVELOPMENT

  • Manage the tech stack including development and IT projects via in-house team and third-party developers — with an eye toward site performance, stability, simplicity, and margin.
  • Manage freelancers, developers, and agency partners to ensure smooth website operations.
  • Continuously monitor Shopify ecosystem developments, Amazon, Recharge updates, and emerging e-commerce tools.

3.    SUBSCRIPTION CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

  • Own Subscribe & Save program optimization and customer experience through Recharge subscription app: cancel-save flows, dunning recovery, subscriber lifecycle experience, SMS Concierge optimization, duplicate subscription resolution, and post-purchase swaps.
  • Drive net monthly growth in active subscribers and subscription revenue.
  • Work cross-functionally with Director of Content & CRM and Customer Service Manager to identify churn risk and retention opportunities, and deploy programs and incentives to improve subscriber retention

 4.    E-COMMERCE OPERATIONS

  • Own and manage backend e-commerce operations including inventory and replenishment, order fulfillment, and omnichannel platforms (Shopify, Amazon, Walmart Marketplace).
  • Serve as SaltWrap's primary store manager and project manager — keeping daily operations running smoothly across Shopify, Amazon, and Walmart while proactively identifying and removing operational constraints before they affect customers or revenue.
  • Manage the Operations Manager and Customer Service Manager, set clear expectations, run structured 1:1 weekly meetings, and support the team by identifying operational growth constraints.
  • Own the financial health of the e-commerce operation — understanding the impact of merchant fees, payment processing, shipping rates, warehouse procedures, and platform costs, and surfacing recommendations to the CEO that improve profitability without sacrificing customer experience.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Passion for health and fitness.
  • 5+ years of hands-on e-commerce experience managing a DTC Shopify store (health/supplements or wellness category strongly encouraged), including direct experience with Shopify Plus, Amazon, and subscription programs
  • Proven experience owning a CRO testing program: partner management (CRO agencies, landing page designers, technical implementation), test analysis, and page deployment.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Recharge (or equivalent subscription platform): cancel-save flows, dunning recovery, subscriber lifecycle optimization, churn reduction, and subscription program strategy.
  • Demonstrated success growing subscription revenue as a percentage of total store revenue and improving active subscriber counts month-over-month.
  • Experience managing developer and agency relationships: clear briefing, QA oversight, timeline accountability, and technical project management.
  • Working knowledge of e-commerce analytics: GA4, Shopify analytics, Lifetimely, TripleWhale (or equivalent LTV/cohort tool), and comfort with conversion rate, AOV, subscription churn, and LTV metrics.
  • Experience with Amazon Seller Central and/or Walmart Marketplace operations, including account health management, listing setup, and A+ content.
  • Strong project management skills and experience with tools like Asana.
  • The ability to work remotely on ET hours.

To be successful as Director of E-Commerce, you need to possess strong skills and aptitude in the following categories:

  • Merchant-technologist mindset. You balance a customer-first instinct — what does this experience feel like? what is the customer trying to do? — with the technical rigor to implement changes correctly, QA thoroughly, and protect the integrity of what's already working.
  • Results-oriented and comfortable being accountable for measurable outcomes. You thrive in a performance-driven environment where success is measured through conversion rates, subscription growth, subscriber churn, AOV, LTV, and project on-time delivery.
  • CRO leader, not just a participant. You run the testing program with rigor, brief external partners with clarity and specificity, hold them accountable to timelines and quality, and protect existing funnel performance during testing. You understand which funnels carry the most advertising spend and prioritize accordingly.
  • Proactive constraint-spotter. You don't wait to be asked — you regularly scan the business for site performance issues, operational bottlenecks, customer experience gaps, and platform improvements, and bring them to the CEO with a proposed path forward.
  • Executes with speed and quality simultaneously. You move fast on decisions and implementations, follow QA processes, and set the tone for a high-execution culture.
  • P&L thinker, not just a project manager. You evaluate every tech decision, app addition, and operational change through the lens of its impact on margin, efficiency, and profitability. You never add complexity without a clear business case.
  • Builder mindset. You’re excited to develop the systems, processes, and team required to scale SaltWrap’s e-commerce operation over time while maintaining a high standard of accountability and execution.
  • Clear and candid communicator who proactively surfaces opportunities, risks, and recommendations while collaborating effectively with the CEO, cross-functional team members, and external partners.

Position location and hours:

  • This is a fully remote position with occasional required travel for team offsites (estimated at 2–4 times per year, not including education-related or event travel).
  • Candidates must have adequate and stable home office or co-work space with high-speed internet connection
  • Candidate must be willing to commit to Eastern Time (ET) working hours, 8:30am to 5:30pm (Monday through Friday).
